The Korean Society of Ultrasound in Medicine was established in May 1980. The number of members is 1706 with 215 residents in training by September 2009. The society hosted the 3rd Asian Federation of Societies of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology in Seoul in 1992 and the 11th World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology in Seoul in 2006. The Society provides Asian Fellowship program from 2008. The society continued discussion toward future vision that focuses on the qualifications of doctors for ultrasound examination, education programs and resources. The 30th anniversary of Congress will be held in May 14th-15th, 2010 at COEX in Seoul. The society will provide the best in science and education and open as an international congress.
